If you’ve gotten your hands on a copy of the excellent Splatoon 3, you might know that there are a whole host of previously released amiibo that are compatible with the game. This includes the original amiibo released with the original Wii U Splatoonas well as the newer and shinier amiibo released with Splaton 2.
There are also Splatoon 3-specific amiibo set to release at a later date, but until that happens you can still unlock a whole host of tasty gear with the older models, and they look rather elegant to boot!

Splatoon 3 Amiibo Compatibility & Unlock Guide – Complete List
Below is a complete list of all amiibo compatible with Splatoon 3 along with the rewards you unlock by scanning them.
We’ll start with the most recent amiibo and work backwards. We’ll update this guide with the yet-to-be-released amiibo (above) when they’re actually released.
Pearl and Marina’s “Off The Hook” Amiibo – Splatoon 2
Pearl and Marina are the previous news anchors before ‘Deep Cut’, and members of the group ‘Off the Hook’, and if you wanted to watch a little more like them when inking in-game, scanning them both will allow you to do just that!
The Pearl amiibo will give you:
- Pearly Crown (cold-blooded ability)
- Pearly Hoodie (Respawn Punisher ability)
- Pearl Kicks (special charge ability)
The Marina amiibo gives you:
- Pickled Headphones (Saver Special Ability)
- Pickled Top (Special Power Up Ability)
- Pickled Slip-Ons (Ink Scavenging Ability)
Amiibo Inkling Boy – Splatoon 2 (Green)
By scanning the Splatoon 2 Inkling Boy amiibo, you will get the following items:
- Squinja Mask
- Squinja Costume
- Squinja Shoes
When equipped, these items will grant you the Special Saver, Swimming Speed Boost, and Faster Respawn abilities.
Amiibo Inkling Girl – Splatoon 2 (Red)
By scanning the Splatoon 2 Inkling Girl amiibo, you will get:
- school vest
- squid clips
- Fringed moccasins
These items give you the Run Speed Up, Opening Gambit, and Cold-Blooded abilities.
Amiibo Inkling Squid – Splatoon 2 (Purple)
By scanning the Splatoon 2 Inkling Squid amiibo, you will get:
- Power Armor Mk 1
- Power Mask Mk 1
- Power Boots Mk 1
When equipped, you will receive the following abilities: Ink Resistance Up, Ink Resistance Up, and Bomb Defense Up respectively.
Amiibo Octoling Girl – Splatoon 2
By scanning the Octaling Girl amiibo from Splatoon 2, you will get:
- Enchanted dress
- enchanted hat
- Enchanted Boots
When equipped, you will receive the Thermal Ink, Ink Saver (Primary), and Execution Speed Up abilities.
Amiibo Octoling Boy – Splatoon 2
By scanning the Splatoon 2 Octoling Boy amiibo, you will get:
- Steel Plate Mail
- Steel Helm
- Steel greaves
Put on this armor and you will fight with Ink Saver (Sub), Special Charge Up and Object Shredder.
Amiibo Octoling Octopus – Splatoon 2
By scanning the Octaling Octopus amiibo from Splatoon 2, you will get:
- Fresh fish gloves
- fresh fish head
- Fresh fish feet
Equipping them will net you Quick Super Jump, Comeback, and Quick Respawn.
Mary amiibo
Scanning the Marie amiibo unlocks the following (only after clearing the single-player campaign, beware):
- Armor Helmet Replica
- Armor Jacket Replica
- Armor Boot Replica
Perks include tenacity, ink saver (main), and special charge ability.
I will miss Callie
Similar to Marie, Callie’s gear set only unlocks after beating the single-player campaign.
- Hero helmet replica
- Hero’s Jacket Replica
- Hero Runner Replica
Benefits include faster swimming, faster running, and faster super jumping.
Amiibo Inkling Boy – Original Splatoon (Blue/Purple)
Scanning the original Splatoon Inkling Boy amiibo gives you:
- samurai helmet
- Samurai Jacket
- Samurai shoes
Perks include a special charge, special power boost, and super fast jump.
Amiibo Inkling Girl – original Splatoon (Orange / Green)
By scanning the Inkling Girl amiibo from the original Splatoon, you will get:
- School barrette
- School uniform, school shoes + knee high socks
- Basic school shoes
Benefits include ink saver, high recovery speed and faster swimming.
Amiibo Inkling Squid – original Splatoon (Green)
Finally, scanning the original Splatoon Inkling Squid amiibo will give you:
- power mask
- Power Armor Clothing
- Power Boots
Perks include faster respawn, higher bomb defense, and an ink saver which should come in handy.
How to scan an amiibo
Simply go to the amiibo booth in Splatsville (almost directly behind where you spawn when starting the game) and follow the on-screen instructions to scan your actual amiibo.
You may need to scan each amiibo multiple times (playing Online Battles between said scans) in order to unlock each piece of gear offered by an amiibo. It’s not really a burden, but something to keep in mind.
It should be noted that none of the bonus items above are required to fully enjoy the game, but they are fun perks and fashion accessories to enjoy if you own one of the amiibo.
