A HARVARD professor has proposed to “save” humanity’s existence on the moon in the event of a global disaster that could potentially be used to create a new “Garden of Eden”.
Avi Loeb, a controversial figure who started the Galileo project to challenge conventional thinking and search for extraterrestrial life, said a number of “calamities could lie ahead”.

He said the Artemis I Moon rocket was a chance to save the human race on a storage device stored on a constantly updated moon using laser communication channels.
“There’s climate change, the threat of nuclear war, we’ve heard a lot about pandemics lately. An asteroid hit the earth and wiped out the dinosaurs. All of this could happen and who knows if anyone would survive,” said Loeb in the United States. Sun.
“We need a contingency plan. I suggest putting a system like backup and recovery on the moon like Cloud on your phone.
“If something goes wrong, we can store all the information we attribute as valuable, including DNA information and all human creations like books, movies and internet content.”
It’s just a theory, but Loeb thinks it’s a realistic mission.
“I think it’s pretty simple,” he said. “Technologically, I don’t see a big obstacle. I’m talking about an electronic system that is removed from the Earth. If there is a human base on the moon, the human race will survive.”
The “safeguard of humanity” could be updated using laser communications, which was developed by NASA and allows large amounts of data to be transferred faster.
Loeb compared it to a laptop’s external drive which is used to continuously download information in the event of a computer crash.
“I suggest something similar,” the Harvard professor said. “The computer is replaced by life on earth and all valuable human creations.
“In principle, this is information that can be digitized and stored on the moon. New things are created all the time on earth, so they would have to be updated.”
A NEW “GARDEN OF EDEN”
In his essay on the medium, he wrote: “My hope is that if we roll humanity’s dice billions of times, we might get the ‘Garden of Eden’ on at least one habitable planet in the galaxy of Milky Way.
“Perhaps Earth represents a failed attempt at another civilization.
“Of course, rebooting the Earth would provide the opportunity for a selective recovery program, in which only the positive aspects of our lives are rebuilt.
“Imagine a world with no toxicity on Twitter, no negativity in reporting, no unwarranted sense of superiority by certain groups of people over others.
Imagine a world where all beings are humble and treat each other with respect and cooperate in harmony.”
SEARCH FOR NEW ALIEN LIFE IN THE OCEAN
Loeb and the Galileo project are raising a million dollars to explore the ocean floor off Papua New Guinea, where an object from space crashed in 2014.
It was originally classified as a meteor, but the object’s speed and path were ‘outliers’ which suggested it was not beholden to the sun’s orbit and came from beyond of the solar system, Loeb told The US Sun in a previous interview.
It likely traveled “from the deep interior of a planetary system or star within the thick disc of the Milky Way galaxy,” Loeb and his student Dr. Amir Siraj wrote in their science paper. April 2019.
That would make it the first interstellar object to make contact with Earth and would predate “Oumuamua” by three years, Loeb said.
Oumuamua, a mysterious 100-kilometer cigar- or pancake-shaped object, passed the sun in 2017 and was originally believed to be the first interstellar object to approach Earth.
