The life simulation Disney Valley of Dreams frame its story as Haven with Mickey Mouse Ears—far, far away from the hustle and bustle of city life or real life. But to take full advantage of it and make improvements to its dilapidated town, get key items and buy nice dresses, you’ll still need to have big stacks of cash. Take it from Scrooge McDuck.
In this world, you will discover Star Coins, Disney Dream Lightit is currency, almost immediately after the start of the game if you spend time dissolving the pustular nocturnal thorns – they spit out a coin almost every time you remove them. But you’ll also quickly learn that the bigger things, like upgrading your backpack for more inventory slots, can cost tens of thousands of Star Coins. This Night Thorn minimum wage is simply unsustainable.
However, because this is Disney we’re talking about, you won’t need to sacrifice your collection of beloved commemorative plates at a garage sale, start moonlighting as a medical device salesman. or to contemplate the many horrors of living in a world that values profit over people. No, like everything else in Disney Dream Lightgetting rich quick and transforming the city can be cute and not too difficult, as long as you have faith, trust, etc.
So I’m going to walk you through how you can build your wealth and hopefully buy Walt Disney’s cryogenically frozen severed head one day.

Know what you can get and where
If it seems like you’re leaving empty-handed, don’t panic. You probably have more money to start with than you think. To confirm this, open your Poor Man’s Inventory and hover over each item you have. You will be able to learn information about the item, like what it is, if it can be consumed and how much energy it gives you, and its coin value. A single apple, which you can harvest from the trees at the start of the game, is worth 25 coins. If you go to the “Collection” section of your game’s menus, you can scroll down and look at all the different types of items, flora, and fauna that you can acquire in the game.
Helpfully, Dream Light tells you exactly what’s in the game, where to get it, and what it’s worth. If you scroll to areas like your recipes, it will also tell you what your concoctions will net you when you mash them together. To take advantage of this, it’s time to start intentionally farming.
Back to hunting and gathering
Dream Lightit is more pastoral elements, fishing and planting, are repetitive and relaxing, but once you unlock Goofy’s buy and sell stalls after meeting him, you can enjoy them too.
While meeting Goofy, you will gain access to his lucky fishing rod. Fish is one of the most lucrative early game items you can get. All you have to do to grab them is look for colored bubbles in bodies of water, stand directly in front of them to cast a line (you can approach from any angle, but j ‘ve found the best for throwing a line), and complete a type of quick mini-game. White bubbles indicate common fish, blue ones are rarer, and gold ones are “legendary”, if you can accept the existence of a legendary fish.
Blue bubbles at the start of the game, Peaceful Meadow, will reliably net you Bream, which you can sell to Goofy for 600 Star Coins. Fishing spots respawn quickly, and failing a minigame doesn’t render a spot inactive or change its rarity, so fishing is an easy choice to speed up a few thousand coins.
Farming is even faster (though less lucrative). You can buy seeds in bulk from Goofy’s stalls, but it’s also worth spending a few minutes pulling weeds and seeing how many bags you get naturally. Going back to those Night Thorns for a second, in addition to individual Star Coins, pulling weeds also often drops seed bags. I think by the end of my first hour of play, I spent too much weeding because it’s so satisfying, I had, like, 40 bags of carrot seeds. Seeds become much more valuable as you unlock new areas.
Once you have a sufficient amount of, say, carrot seeds in your inventory, put your shovel and watering can to work. Set up a nice farm plot near your house, as prolonged farming will quickly deplete your energy, and the most efficient way to replenish it is to move in and out of your house.
Plant everything you have, water the plot (or grow while it rains to water your plot automatically), and wait 25 minutes for them to grow and harvest. Sell your carrot bounty to Goofy en masse for 44 coins per pop. And remember, you can hold down the plant and water button to have your character do it automatically.
This process also holds as you go deeper into the game – okra, seeds of which you can find in Glade of Trust by weeding or buying them from a Goofy stand, can be sold for 114 star coins and are harvested in three-packs of coins for a net worth of 342. However, more valuable crops tend to take longer to grow. Okra takes two hours.
And as you explore, if you have room for your backpack, collect things like flowers, seashells, and use your pickaxe to mine profitable gems from rock formations. Some rarer gems, like shiny peridots in the early slots of the game, net you 800 coins. I recommend upgrading your backpack early. Although upgrading costs 5,000 coins, it allows you to keep more high-value items in the long run.
Phone a friend
To increase your bounty in any fishing, farming, or gathering endeavor, assign a familiar friend like Mickey Mouse or Scrooge to a certain task.
To do this, chat with the characters and complete their quests to reach friendship level two. At this point, you will be able to (irreversibly) assign your friends one of five roles: gardening, fishing, foraging, mining, and digging.
Talk to a respective character before performing a task yourself, then choose the “Let’s surrender!” ” option. Characters will then follow you around while you, for example, harvest crops and acquire an additional bounty to sell. Assigning tasks to characters also increases your friendship level with them and how well they perform the task.
Let a rat live in your kitchen
High risk, high reward. After getting a Stove by buying one from Scrooge, crafting one yourself, or receiving one from Mickey after completing his initial “Foodception” quest, unlocking Rat Chef Remy allows you to organize food into meals deliciously expensive.
To find the creature, head to Dream Castle and decide to enter the kingdom which has “a restaurant with a great little chef”. Disney is not that subtle.
Cook a little with Remy in his kingdom to start his quest, return to your reality, cough up 2,000 coins to build a house for Remy, then another 2,000 for the restaurant furniture kit, which you can buy from Scrooge. Find the ingredients Remy asks for, then you can conclude his quest and buy dairy ingredients like butter, eggs, milk, and cheese.
Combining these ingredients with your other foods results in powerful meals, such as Fish Soup (Any Fish, Any Vegetable, Milk), which can be sold for 368 coins minimum, and Chocolate Waffles at unreasonable price (cocoa bean, wheat, eggs, milk), which can be sold for 735 coins.
